Terms and Conditions for Wheatys Electrical (Domestic and Commercial Electrical Work in the UK)
1. Definitions
1.1. "Company" refers to Wheatys Electrical. 1.2. "Client" refers to the individual, company, or organisation requesting the services of the Company. 1.3. "Services" refer to all electrical work undertaken by the Company, including but not limited to installation, repair, and maintenance. 1.4. "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions and any additional terms agreed in writing between the Company and the Client.
2. Scope of Work
2.1. The Company will carry out electrical work as agreed with the Client. A written quotation or estimate will detail the scope of work and associated costs. 2.2. All Services will comply with applicable UK laws, regulations, and standards, including the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
3. Quotations and Estimates
3.1. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified. 3.2. Quotations are based on the information provided by the Client at the time of issuance. Any changes to the scope of work may result in additional charges. 3.3. Estimates are provided as an approximate guide and are subject to change.
4. Payment Terms
4.1. Domestic Clients:

A deposit of 60% may be required before work commences.

Full payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Late payments
4.2. Commercial Clients:

Payment terms will be detailed in the invoice and may include staged payments for larger projects.

Late payments may incur interest at 10% per month, as permitted by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5. Client Obligations
5.1. The Client must provide access to the property during agreed working hours and ensure a safe working environment. 5.2. The Client must inform the Company of any hazards, such as asbestos, and provide accurate information about the property.
6. Materials and Equipment
6.1. All materials supplied by the Company will remain its property until full payment is received. 6.2. The Company reserves the right to charge for any additional materials required due to unforeseen circumstances or changes requested by the Client.
7. Warranty
7.1. The Company guarantees workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, subject to the limitations below. 7.2. The warranty does not cover:

Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or tampering.

Faults caused by existing electrical systems unless inspected and certified by the Company.
8. Cancellation and Termination
8.1. The Client may cancel the work by providing at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellation fees may apply for work already undertaken or materials ordered. 8.2. The Company reserves the right to terminate the Agreement if:

The Client breaches any terms.

The Company deems the site unsafe to continue work.
9. Liability
9.1. The Company will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss. 9.2. The Company's total liability is limited to the value of the contract. 9.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Health and Safety
10.1. The Company will adhere to all relevant UK health and safety regulations. 10.2. The Client must ensure the site is free from hazards and comply with any safety requests made by the Company.
11. Force Majeure
11.1. The Company will not be liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond its control, such as extreme weather, strikes, or supply chain disruptions.
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1. Any disputes will first be addressed through negotiation. If unresolved, the matter may be referred to mediation or arbitration in accordance with UK law.
13. Governing Law
13.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. 13.2. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Miscellaneous
14.1. Changes to these Terms and Conditions will only be effective if agreed in writing by the Company. 14.2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. 14.3. The Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Company and the Client.
